Got myself a good deal for Adidas top and hoodies. 40% off the usual $50 top which only cost me $30 and $20 off the originally $100 hoodies. I'm laughing my ass off from the great buy. A nice and less guilty way to reward myself. Life is so nice... Big grin (^u^)m

Anticipating... I've received a notice for me to collect my article in the post office. It's from my sweetheart meow. She can't hide any secret from me just like I can't hide any secret from her. Haha she split out the beans in one of our webcam session. Love how we tried so hard to give each other surprises but we can't resist in the end. 1st thing in the morning tomorrow I'll be heading to the post office to see what she got for me. Just can't wait for tomorrow to arrive. Love love my darling sisters and friends.. (That includes "all" darlings ok)

Hm.. It has been such a long while since I'm blogging. This proves something.. IM GETTING LAZIER!! This recent trip back home was a great decision. I had so much fun meeting up with friends and spending time with my family( through I was staying over at Chengjie's place most of the time. Ops..) Ok I hear some complains here and there.. But nevertheless it was a great recharge for me. Departure was better than the previous time. No more tears instead more light-hearted with some unexpected friends sending me off. :) Life back in Sydney was a little dreadful for me. No more fun, enjoyments with friends but days of staying at home surfing the net, finishing 海派甜心( which I thought was a lame show at the beginning but turn out to be good)and heading to the supermarket. Head out for a walk to look for a job but it seems harder then expected. The best way i can think of to savage the situation a bit is to thrift thrift and thrift. How I wish I am the 19 years old boy who strike the toto. Well it's just a wish after all. Let's hope that I can get a job soon. Starting school tomorrow, wishing me all the best this semester! Gotta work hard girl!!

Really love the song 爱不单行after watching 海派甜心. It's filled with very meaningful lyrics which I feel strongly for. This show had touched me deeply through getting a little drama towards the end. I learn the importance of a person's inner beauty and trust for their love ones.

Eagerly waiting for 8 Nov to arrive. Time flies and Im left with a month more to go home. I can't wait to reunite with all my friends and family. Most importantly I'll be back for my best friend Ploy's wedding. I felt so privilege to be her bridesmaid. I am so excited about it. I guess getting involve in your best friend's wedding is a very happy occasion seeing her bliss with happiness and love. Towards the end of the semester, a lot of works need to be done! Just 4 more weeks to go! Do my best and I'll get to enjoy the next few months at ease. Reaching Singapore in 08 November 5.40 PM. Roar all my buddies and family members who are awaiting for me. I felt so loved by my best friends and family. My beloved sister sent over the Lin feng's album which had his autograph over to me. Along with the album there are some coffee which he endorses in. Oh my god one of them actually had collagen in it while the other is with ginseng. Amazing how much coffee had evolve to. Got to try out tomorrow. I was only expecting a parcel from the post office but to my surprise, I've received another surprise parcel from Miss meow. She didn't give me any clue about it. I was really surprise to see another parcel with the tops she bought for me during her recent trip to Bangkok. I felt so emotional receiving all these gift. These small surprises from my beloved family and friends really gives me so much warmth. I can really feel how much they love me. I can't describe how important they are to me and how much I really love them. All I can do is to thank god for giving me all these for I know that they will always be by my side. I really do love u guys sooooooooooooo much! Time flies and I'll be returning back soon. I'm really excited about reuniting with you guys.

After a month of long wait, my dear flatmate Claire-Marie and Samir are finally back! But this time, they are leaving for real. They will be heading back to France. :( I am really excited to see them again yesterday but at the same time had to send them off this morning. It's such a short period of time. I really misses them a lot. I guess they will be my best flatmates. I was really fortunate to meet them. Life is full of gifts and surprises and they are the gift that was presented to me at this stage of my life. I send a farewell sms to Claire-Marie before they board the plane and she told me that I am important to her. I was really touched by her simple words and it meant so much to me. Tears always well up when I read that message. They really brighten up my life here in Australia. I will cherish our friendship and we've got to keep in touch. Hope to meet them again at some corner of the world. I'm really grateful for what I have in this life. Goodbye my dear Claire-Marie and Samir but that's definitely not the end of our friendship.

Maybe what Yihao said was right. Anyway I have try to move out of my comfort zone doing realistic painting and try different styles of painting. Really hope that I can really discover a style that I like.

I was anticipating my dear beloved Miss Meow to return from Bangkok. Finally, she came back today. I knew that my dear Miss Meow will never forget to bring gorgeous gift for me. Just as I've expected I've got 2 beautiful tops from her. Although she didn't manage to find the blazer jacket that i was looking for, I'm already very contented with what I've got! Miss Meow just know what I love. Things will never go wrong with Miss Meow. Love love.. I cant wait to go home!!!!

Not forgetting my love for vintage. So beautiful that I feel like flying home now to grab it!! Love love.

My 1st illustration assignment and I am very excited about it. This assignment is about researching different caricature styles and copy a style for my own caricature. Few of the caricature artists that I really admire is Sebastian Kruger and Sean Gardner. Check out their works as their styles are very exaggerated and different. I tried doing Sean Gardner style but it was disastrous. So I've decided to lower my expectation and do a style that has been widely use by caricature artist. I had included my 3 babies Chibi, Kado and Yogi in my caricature. Hmmm miss and love them so much.

Here comes a shoes that satisfy my checkered craving! At the beginning of the year Nike Sportswear introduced the Skinny Dunk for ladies to the sneaker world. In this collection, it consists of 2 Gingham patterned sneakers available in both red and Navy blue. It's should be available in the 3rd quarter of the year. It's about time or maybe it has been released! When will I be able to get a pair of my own? It shall be kept in my wish list at the moment. Meanwhile I'll take my time choosing the colors. Checkered obsession will never fade! Love

My awesome sister

I am still thrill by what my wonderful sister did for me. It's so out of the world and unbelievable. Yesterday Lin feng came to Singapore as a spokesman for Alicafe coffee. There was a meet the fans session in Jurong point at 7.30 pm. My sister gave me a call at 6 plus telling me that she had bought his album and wanted to help me to get his autograph but it was too crowded as there was already 400-500 people queuing at that time. My first reaction was that she shouldn't have waste the money because I'm not that crazy over him. So she said that she would ask if someone would let her cut the queue as it's quite impossible to get his autograph if she were to join the queue then. I told her that no one would allow her to do that but she reassured me that she would try. I was so touched by her gesture as she did it especially for me. So I waited thinking that there wasn't much hope.

Not long after, she sent me a sms saying that she managed to get into the queue as someone actually allowed her to do that. Thanks to the kind souls. So I waited patiently here in Australia for her updates. About 2 hrs later my dear sister gave me a call telling me that he would only sign on the alicafe poster when you buy the coffee. So the staff stopped her saying that he won't be signing on his album. And my sister shouted "my sister is in Australia and I would like to get the autograph on the album for her."

The unimaginable actually happen. Lin feng heard her and he signed the album for my sister! Oh my god my sister is so great isn't she. He actually made an exception to sign it for her. I am really happy and touched by what she did for me. It's such a meaning and unforgettable gift. I really appreciated what you did to me my dear sister and besides thank you there's nothing much I can show my appreciation. You did everything just because you want me to be happy and I can tell you that you've achieved it. I am really very happy. I love you so much and hope that you'll be as happy as I do. I'm fortunate to have a sister like you! A big big hug and kisses for my noble dear sister!! ^u^

holiday

One more week to go before a new semester starts again. Getting used to sleeping late and waking up late isn't a good habit. The classes in my new semester are in the morning. I got to switch back to my normal body clock before it's too late. Soon will be the end of slacking. This holiday hasn't been very productive. Was trying so hard to get my portfolio done but I just don't know where to start from. I am lost in my career path eagerly searching for a guidance light to bring me to the right track. What do I really want to do. I can't be so greedy doing everything end up nothing is accomplish. Well guess the path in front of me right now is animation. Give it a try and see how it goes.

While it can be quite exciting studying overseas, at the end of the day I still miss home. I miss my beloved family and friends. Guess no matter how far I go, my heart will still be with them. Recently I woke up with the thought that I am at home. That's one morning i even dreamt that my dad had bought me breakfast. Hilarious. Can't wait for the semester to end and rush home for a good 4 months.

Didn't really go out to explore Sydney during this break as we have got a tight budget. A small treat for ourselves in Max Brenner. My Flatmate was working there. The hot chocolate and wafers are great but the milk shake aren't impressive. I saw an interesting invention. A pot which you put on your glass and it will filter the chai tea leaves from the drink. And by the way Chai tea with white chocolate was great. Got to try out the Max brenner in Singapore explanade and compare which one is worth the visit.

Assessment's over

So many things, happy and depressing happening within a week. My poor beloved rabbit Kiro didn't manage to survive through the battle with serious infection. Mum and sis had been trying so hard to aid him recover although the doctor said that the chances are not high. We all thought that it was recovering well. It's such a heart breaking news to hear that it has passed away on thursday. But we all knew that it was suffering and it would be a relief for Kiro. Hope that it will reincarnate and lead a great life in it's next life. We all love and miss you so much.

And finally assessment is over!! No more sleepless night and rushing of work. In order to celebrate this great event, we went out for shopping yesterday!! It's was raining all day long. It's sale season so there's lots of discount going on. That is so happening as we need to do some shopping for winter. The guys didn't get anything whereas I got myself a simple dolly top in the end. Haha it's more like they are accompanying me for shopping. Anyway it's a great reward for us after all the hard work. Along the way we saw lots of pretty things and one of them was a beautiful duckie cake. A perfect cake for me. We headed to Mcdonalds for our lunch and I ordered filet-O-fish meal. It's was the roundest and most perfect burger bun I've ever seen. Delicious! It's a great start for me to work harder for my portfolio. I am not going to do nothing during this break. Wish my luck everyone!

tired pre assessment

This is definitely one thing i don't miss in school's life. Rushing like mad at the last moment before assessment week. I don't understand why am I doing so much work when I hasn't been piling up my weekly assessments. Sigh.. feeling tired, cold and stress. My good friend housemate Claire-Marie offers to make me dinner seeing how tired and stress I was. I was so touched by her kind gesture knowing she is very tired from work too. In another 2 weeks time she will be leaving. I will be so sad and lonely without her chatting and cooking with me. Thinking about it gives my nose a sour sensation. (Miss meow will definitely be jealous) Well, I kind of understand that departure is parts and parcels of life. Went for a job interview introduced by her today in the rock market. Awaiting for reply.. If nothing goes wrong I will be able to start work next weekend. Oh no. aussie currency rate is reaching 1.2. Can anyone prevent it from going up any further? And I pray for my dear rabbit kiro to get well soon. Back to work..

It's so true when people said that painting is therapeutic. It's my first time painting on canvas and it feels so good. I've never felt so professional before. Haha now I conclude that I love traditional painting more then digital. Oh boy I realize that I'm going back to the past from my passion for vintage to doing things, animation, painting etc. traditionally. How am I suppose to catch up with the current world? Oh boy I guess Yik Hoe and Robbert was right to say that I shouldn't be born in this generation. The passion is becoming stronger every since I came over to Australia after exposing to more of them here. Oldies, 40s American ad, antiques, 2d traditional animation, vintage cars etc.. As people are catching up with the trend, I'm becoming more outdated. It might not be a bad thing after all. I'm glad that the scope for my painting class is quite general which allows me to do whatever I am interested in. For people who really know me, it's not hard to spot the things I like in every painting. Final assessment is coming is 2 weeks time. A lot of touch up needs to be done. Busy busy.. These are some of the painting that I've done in class using acrylic on canvas. Nice experience except that acrylic paints dry to a darker tone. Argh.. quite annoying

Hm.. I wasn't happy with this painting. The colour didn't turn out the way I wanted it to be and the BG spoilts the whole painting. It's suppose to be a picture of my parents' wedding photo in a reflex camera. Makeover coming up.

Alright, this is a landscape painting. I chose the street outside my house as we were suppose to do a landscape painting of our familiar place. I was trying to achieve the 40s American ad look(shown below) incorporating with my favourite vintage cars. I was trying to visualize how this street in the 1950s looks like. Work in progress got to continue painting today. Still not very sure if I can get this look.

Really love this style. There's this beautiful book called the 40s All-american art from Robbert with all the breathtaking ad in every page. Strongly recommended for those who likes this style of art. Got to get myself one too!! Love it.

Busy busy busy. So many work so little time. I have been juggling between my school work and my all time favorite Character Drawing. I realized that I have not been doing much of that nowadays. But how about my animation and illustration dreams?? After a trip to Robbert's town looking at his portfolio and how successful he is now I decided to work hard to reach my goal! I always get motivated watching him draw. An hour of coaching from Robbert gave me so much strength to continue! But I have got so much school work to be done! I can't wait till the holiday so I started drawing and I realized that I've enjoyed it like never before. Maybe the only other time was when I was a kid. I never post up my work as I have little confidence in it and I always feel that it's not good enough. This time round I feel that I should step up and face all the critiques be it good or bad. That is the way to learn. So everyone don't hesitate to give me suggestions to improve! I need them! Wonderful beginning! Live the dreams! What a wonderful world!!

Lebanese food

On the 2nd May, I had a break through meal of my life in Sydney. Robbert suggested that all work and no play make me dull. So he decided to bring us out for a dinner at a beautiful Lebanese Restaurant at Surry Hill. The whole ambiance of the restaurant is so cozy and authentic. It's a great place to hang out with friends. We had cushion seats at the 2nd level of the restaurant. The 1st dish that was served is Hommus, chickpea, Salsa salad and Lebanese bread. Hommus with Salsa salad and bread is such a great combination. Salsa Salad is light balancing the taste of the earthy hommus dip. Then we had some deep fried vegetarian dishes with chicken and lamb skews. Nevertheless the main dishes were delicious and filling. The highlight of the dinner was the small glass of Lebanese coffee with some desserts. One of the desserts that i simply can't forget is their specialty Baklava. It is a Mediterranean dessert made with Phyllo dough, nuts, butter, and sugar. After baking to perfection, sweet syrup is immediately poured over the pieces allowing the syrup to be absorbed into the layers. Although I don't fancy sweet stuff a lot, I love this dessert. It neutralized the taste of the strong coffee. This will be the 1st and definitely not the last time I will be patronizing this restaurant!

Great earthy food!

On the 3rd May, we decided to make a trip to Spotlight after multiple requests from me. It was quite a distance of walk as we were trying to save money by not taking any public transport. We stopped by at times to look at the different shops and took pictures along the way. Who says that one can't be happy without money. Look! a simple smoothie from 7-11 is enough to drive us go nuts. End of the day, we managed to find the spotlight but i didn't buy anything from there as it's not exactly cheap and worth the money. I concluded that it's not worth going the extra miles. Anyway it's was a fun day and we ended up buying necessities.

This year's birthday is such an unforgettable one. It will be deeply engraved in my mind and everything seems to be just yesterday. On the 21th April about 9 am in the morning, I jumped out of my bed after hearing from the postman. I can't express how delighted I was even through i kind of expected that I will be receiving it on that day. Once signed on the slip, I immediately carry the 10 kg parcel to my room and start ripping them apart. Of course before ripping apart, I took some pictures for my blog. I was so excited to see a box full of food that I missed from my family and a birthday gift from my beloved sisters. This year is a little special as it's my 1st time celebrating birthday without them. We would usually ask the birthday girl what she wants and we'll get it for her. But this time round, they've decided to give me a surprise present which is more thoughtful. The suspension makes me appreciate the gift more. The girls just know my taste so well and it fits me to a T. My mum and sister bought me a lot of tidbits whereas my dad sponsor the postage. All except my dear brother. (PS: Hao, did you hear me? Where is the wishing and presents?? haha) Well.. talk less more pictures!!

We did light drawing under the starry night. A blazer which i have been eyeing from the boys. I didn't expect them to get it for me. Definitely a beautiful birthday to remember.

Long wait peeps.. It's the same line again "My internet hasn't be up yet!" Here are some sneak preview of the exciting trip on my birthday. It was an eye opener for me. Every moments feels like a dream to me and now i am back to the reality. There are so many beautiful places in the world awaiting for me to experience. It's just the beginning to exploring this beautiful world. Thanks to Robbert for bringing us around not forgetting all the surprises, Yi hao and Yan fei for the beautiful jacket and playing a part in this beautiful birthday especially for me. I can't help but to cry out "what a wonderful world!"

Experiencing life in Sydney 01

Yesterday was such a fruitful day. It is also the day where Robbert and I reunited after our last dinner about 2 years ago in Singapore. I was so looking forward to meet him on the fine Saturday morning. The weather was prefect and Robbert drove me to a few exciting places in his matte black production van. We keep talking about how unbelievable for us to meet after so long. As promised, he brought me to this very interesting flea market called the Roselle market. I was amazed by all the vintage stuff that can be found in this wonderful market. They are such a rare sight in Singapore. It’s was an eye opener for me as I’ve never seen so many quality vintage antiques such as irons, camera and tin toys in my life. In my opinion, they should all be kept in the museum or selling in those antiques shop for high prices. It leaves me wonder who is the original owner of these treasures in the past. Every item has got so much characteristic and story to tell about their past. I’m sure people who loves vintage stuff like me will like this market as much as I do.

Robbert bought this beautiful 'Life' magazine for me. It was a magazine from 1945 featuring the war artist. Every page is filled with beautiful paintings and illustrations. I like the way they illustrate the ads without using photography like now.

After the exciting tour in the wonderful flea market, we head straight the Sydney harbour bridge and Opera house. It was such a spectacular sight. The place whereby Robbert bought me to is the best angle to view the attraction. The sight that was appearing right in my eyes was just too unreal for me. It feels like a dream and I finally realize that I have come so far to Sydney.

And that is not all.. After this, Robbert drove me around this big city to see the different kinds of areas and housing in Sydney. It's an educational trip for me as I learn a lot more about this city in just a day. Little did i expect that we are on our way to see the 'legendary pacific ocean' that we always talk about in our geography lesson. Actually this is not my 1st time admiring the Pacific Ocean as i had seen it on my trip to Taiwan Hua lien. But this time round I will not be viewing it from a distance but i can feel and touch the Pacific Ocean. How incredible nature is. The seawater is so clear that it blends in with the sky. I wasn’t exaggerating when I said that the sand was shimmering. There's little glitter in the sand that makes them shimmer under the sunlight. Oh my god for that moment, I feel like diving into the water and swim with the fishes. What more can i ask for..

It’s seemed a little too late to talk about the day I left Singapore as I'm already in Sydney for almost 3 weeks. But I would like to show my appreciation to my family and friends for what they've done for me. Nevertheless to say, I was so emotional on that day. Blessing messages was enough to set me in tears, so I seriously can't imagine how it will be like when I was about to enter the departure gate. Just as I expected, I was in tears as i walk towards the departure gate. My family and friends bid me goodbyes with hugs and tears. Baby bird will eventually grow up and leave the nest. So I brought along all the blessing and gifts and I told myself I have to work very hard so as not to disappoint them. Although departure is sad, I will sure come back with glory. Thank you everyone and I’ll keep all the words of encouragement in mind. I am so fortune to have you people and I LOVE YOU EVERYONE!!
